It’s not all phones running Android; yesterday Archos announced their much-anticipated Android-based PMP, the touchscreen Archos 5 Internet Tablet.  Packing a 4.8-inch resistive touchscreen, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of flash storage or 160GB or 500GB of hard-drive based storage, the Archos 5 has a custom UI designed by the company to sit on top of Android.

Both local and streaming network content is supported, and the Archos 5 also has the usual Android web browser for internet access.  Since the PMP lacks integrated 3G, Archos have made it straightforward to tether your cellphone via Bluetooth when there’s no WiFi around; you can also use the Bluetooth to hook up a keyboard and mouse, while Archos also offer HDMI docks that will output 720p HD video (and browsing at 1,280 x 720 resolution) on your TV.

An optional DVR Dock allows you to record TV or other video directly onto the Archos 5; pricing for the PMP itself ranges from $250 to $440.  For hands-on first-impressions of the Archos 5 Android Internet Tablet check out our SlashGear post.
