Between all the hardware news, details about Android Key Lime Pie, and reviewing the HTC One mini, we figured a quick shout out was in order detailing a few of the important app updates we’re seeing this afternoon. As usual, there’s too many to list but below you’ll find a few worth mentioning.

Today we’re seeing updates to popular apps such as the official Twitter app, Imgur for photo posting, Samsung’s WatchON for the Galaxy S4 remote, Words with Friends, and a few others. We’ll start with Imgur, considering since officially launching the app not but a month ago the developers have been updating quite rapidly. And doing so with added features and fixes instead of tiny little incremental waste of time updates.

Imgur just received a sizable new update as of late last night. Version 1.1.0 added notifications, replies in your gallery profile, a next button in the header, and an auto hiding header as you scroll. They fixed login issues, improved speeds while scrolling and viewing images and funny memes, and albums now load 10 at a time on mobile. Well done guys!

Twitter was updated this afternoon with improved search features and functions, as well as improved security. That was a big deal for many, and you can find more details right here. Samsung’s WatchON (for TV) remote app powered by Peel received a nice update. It’s now supporting a dark theme for the UI, fixed tons of non-loading screen issues, lag with the control and number pad while trying to dial channels, and also improved the widget. Their widget still needs help, but this is a start. Get the new app right here.

Hey, then it looks like everyone’s favorite obnoxious game Words with Friends received a pretty little update. Don’t even get me started on the Zynga layoffs, that’s just not cool. Any who, their app received an update that brings fixes and enhancements that makes the app “better than ever” but that’s all they say. Most likely they’ve just added more ads that take even longer to go away. That app is out of control with the ads, if you ask us.

So, there you have it. That’s just a few of many apps that have received updates this afternoon. Feel free to add more in the comments below.
