Rovio hasn’t been afraid to release new versions of Angry Birds. We’ve seen the original, as well as others to include Space, Star Wars, Friends and GO, to name a few. Also included was the release of Angry Birds Seasons, which brings a connection to the upcoming Angry Birds release.

The new Angry Birds release will bring focus on Stella. For those looking back, Stella made her debut in Angry Birds Seasons. Specifically, in the Back to School episode. With that in mind, the new release will be called Angry Birds Stella. For now Rovio hasn’t offered much in the way of release details, but they have done a bit of teasing about the game itself.

Angry Birds Stella is being touted as a release that will include Stella and her friends, a “group of feisty characters with a shared love for fun, adventure and creativity.” Rovio also touched on how this release will take players to “parts of the Angry Birds world we’ve never seen before.”

Rovio CEO, Mikael Hed, has said this release is about “breaking the mold by introducing strong, passionate characters who really stand for something, while adding plenty of action and reality into the mix.” He also promised that Stella and her friends will be “here to stay” and will evolve in both a physical and digital world. Simply put, it sounds like the initial game release of Angry Birds Stella will be followed with future updates, as well as regular retail products.
