We have seen a few teasers for Angry Birds Go! and as of today — a release date has been announced. Coming by way of Rovio, the next Angry Birds themed game will be arriving in December. Specifically, the game will arrive in the Play Store on December 11th. We are also getting a look at some gameplay in a newly released trailer video.

Rovio will be releasing Angry Birds Go! for free and it will feature what is being described as “high-octane downhill racing.” The game will include a variety of characters as well as a variety of karts to race those characters on. Each of the characters will have special powers and similar to other recent Rovio releases — support for Hasbro’s TELEPODS.

In this case, Rovio will be launching a countdown app for those looking to get in on the TELEPODS support. They have said a “special countdown app” will be released at the end of October. The app will allow users to get a head start by scanning the TELEPODS ahead of the actual Angry Birds Go! game release.

“In Angry Birds Go! you can feel the rush as you fling down the track and go head-to-head in a fast and furious race to the finish line! Look out for treacherous roads, mischievous opponents and unique special powers to put the race leader behind the pack. Plus you can go from homemade soapbox car to a super-fly car by upgrading your ride. It’s all there, along with crazy stunt and air tracks, and many fun and surprising game modes.”

Otherwise, while Rovio has promised that the game will be a free-to-play title with a “whole host of modes and features” from the beginning, this is just the beginning. There was the promise of future updates and Rovio has said they have “huge plans” for their first ever racing game. Aside from Android, Angry Birds Go! will also be released for iOS, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10.
