We haven’t heard anything new about Android Pay but the last time, we learned that the service no longer works for mobile devices with system-less root. After coming to United States and Australia, we’ve got news that the mobile payment service is arriving in the UK. Before the month of March ends, Android Pay’s British invasion will be done. We’re positive that the idea will also pick up in the European region.

The mobile payments industry has just begun and Android Pay is fast becoming a popular service in the United States. First launched in September of  2015, Android Pay now has a number of rivals. There’s Apple Pay, Google Pay, and LG G Pay. Android Pay has a potential to be bigger as Android works on about half of the smartphones in the UK.

Android Pay takes advantage of a Near-Field Communication (NFC) microchip so mobile users can pay for products or services with just using their smartphones. Usually, it works with any contactless payment terminal. As for verifcation, most OEMs use the fingerprint reader to authorize purchases.

In the UK, paying with mobile devices is not really a new thing. Thousands of people use their mobile phones to pay for almost anything, anytime, and anywhere now . According to Transport for London, about 35,000 of of journeys are made using mobile payment. In the coming months or years, expect more mobile users to use Android Pay and other similar apps.
