Given the Galaxy Note II‘s success, it’s no surprise that Samsung is quick to support it. Owners of the international Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) are in for a treat today, as SamMobile reports that Samsung is beginning to push updates to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out the door. This update, of course, brings plenty of new features that users will want to have on their handset, so there’s plenty of reason to get excited about Android 4.1.2.

Among other things, these new features include a notification panel that can be customized and performance enhancements to the browser. Users can now disable Multi-View and the brightness slider in the notifications panel, with Samsung adding the Group Cast app and a new ink effect on the lock screen. This update is being sent out in waves over-the-air, so if you don’t have it yet, don’t panic – it’s probably coming your way shortly. Of course, you can also grab it over Samsung Kies if you don’t want to wait for the OTA update to arrive.

With an excellent 5.5-inch screen and number of handy multitasking features, it’s really no wonder the Galaxy Note II has become such a success with users. Combine those with a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor and 2GB of RAM, and you have a phone worthy of the flagship title it’s been given. Indeed, it seems like a Galaxy Note III for 2013 is in the pipeline, given the popularity of the first two handsets in the line.

That popularity also means that it may not be long before we see Android 4.2 being pushed to Note II handsets. Of course, given the elusive nature of these updates, nothing is for sure, but Samsung will definitely want to keep supporting its flagship devices. We’ll have news on future updates when Samsung announces it, so keep checking back here with Android Community for more.
