If you’re looking to make a few purchases this holiday season, but shipping costs have you down, Amazon has you covered. An update to their Android app today now gives eligible users a free 30-day trial of Prime. The Amazon membership gives participants free two-day shipping on many items, as well as access to a treasure trove of movies via the Amazon app for media streaming devices like Roku.

Just who is eligible? Neither the app or description make that clear, but we’d think those who haven’t signed up for Prime to be eligible. New members can enjoy Prime for 30 days, which could come in really, really handy this holiday season. Even better, you can activate one-click ordering, making all your purchases that much simpler.

Using Amazon’s shopping comparison app will help you make smart decisions while out and about, too. Scan the barcode of an item, and Amazon shows you how much it is on their site. If you like what you see from Amazon, simply buy with one-click and your item is on the way, usually arriving in two days. You can even upgrade to one-day shipping if you like!

With Amazon making a big push to get us shopping on their site this season, a trial Prime membership is quite a shock, but not unexpected. We hope this means bigger things are coming from Amazon this season, too! They’re already discounting the Chromecast to $30, so we wonder what else there is in store.
