Joy of the days! The original dual-core monster (or so some say, some say not, but some say) is here for essentially free, finally, this time on Amazon, your favorite online dealer of the goods. What's more is that not only will you get this device that'd normally cost you $600 off-contract for one cent, you'll get a $100 voucher for that much off an Atrix laptop dock. What a deal, what a deal indeed - can you even contain yourself?
This device was JUST spoken about by the gods of these Android internets in respect to its upcoming Android 2.3 Gingerbread update (which some say will include an extra .4 at the end, but you didn't hear that from me.) This update will, if reports are true, include the ability unlock your bootloader with a very simple fastboot oem unlock in your guts and like magic, you'll have access. Magic, I tell you! Now you've got no reason in the WORLD not to go grab an Atrix, right?
This deal comes amid news of another Motorola device that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Atrix not so much in its appearance, but in its function. Just a couple weeks ago, your humble narrator was in New York City at a Motorola event where they revealed the PHOTON 4G, a device with the same dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor as the ATRIX, basically the same physical size, and having the same webtop capabilities. Have a look at that in two posts with hands-on: one about the accessories, one about the handset itself in all its magnificent and diamond-shaped glory.
Then back to the Amazon deal for the Atrix - you'll have to head on over to [the listing page on Amazon] to take advantage of it, and you should probably act fast because deals where devices are one cent tend not to last very long.
