We have seen a few recent device announcements from Alcatel. They quietly detailed the One Touch Idol S and Idol Mini at the end of August. Coming out of IFA we have seen the introduction of the One Touch Idol Alpha and One Touch Hero smartphones and it looks like Alcatel also had a tablet in the works.

The model is the One Touch Evo 8HD and it will be arriving with an 8-inch display and running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The display will be IPS with a resolution of 1024 x 768. The tablet will be powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. There will also be a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 64GB in size.

Other goodies on the One Touch EVO 8H include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and 4G LTE and 3G HSPA+ 21 connectivity which comes by way of a removable module. The tablet will also have a 4160 mAh battery, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and 3 megapixel rear-facing camera with measurements of 222 x 152.5 x 9mm and a weight of 415 grams.

Similar to what we saw with the One Touch Hero smartphone, the Evo 8HD tablet is arriving with a handful of similar accessories. This one will allow you yo “enlarge your view” with the One Touch Home V100 — this basically allows you to play games, share videos and “anything that’s on your screen to an HDTV in real time.” Alcatel also has a charging dock available for the tablet.

The case related accessories include a magnetic flip cover case which is touted as being slim and stylish. This one is available in a variety of colors. The Evo 8HD tablet will also have the Magic Flip cover which will alert you to incoming messages using LED lights that display on the front of the case. Finally, while Alcatel has detailed the specs and accessories for the Evo 8HD tablet — they have yet to offer anything in terms of a price or release date.
