Quickly after the Adblock Fast for Samsung Internet browser was announced by developer Rocketship Apps, Google removed the ad-blocking app from the Play Store. Apparently, the app violated a policy included in the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement–specifically section 4.4 that discusses Prohibited Actions according to Google. The developer may have forgotten a few policies but it was immediately ready to fix the problem.

The section of the Developer Distribution Agreement says:

4.4 Prohibited Actions. You agree that you will not engage in any activity with the Store, including the development or distribution of Products, that interferes with, disrupts, damages, or accesses in an unauthorized manner the devices, servers, networks, or other properties or services of any third party including, but not limited to, Android users, Google or any mobile network operator. You may not use customer information obtained from the Store to sell or distribute Products outside of the Store.

Google disabled the app for such violation and has sent a reminder to the developer. Rocketship Apps reached out to Google for the app to be reinstated. An update was submitted but was rejected by Google. An appeal was made once again and was finally accepted and approved. This means the Adblock Fast is now up on the Play Store ready for download. The dev even extended support to Android 4.0 so it will be the updated version 1.1.0 already.

It’s good that Google accepted the request and reinstated the app but we’re not sure what Rocketship Apps did or what was explained to the tech giant. The company was surprised to receive a new email with the good news. Google told Rocketship Apps that they only need to submit the app again by signing into the Developer Console.

So yes, it’s back.
