Acer has quickly become a name synonymous with Chromebooks. Their sleek styling and incredible price points only serve to compliment the simplicity of Chrome OS. Today, Acer announces a new color option for their touchscreen C720P Chromebook, Moonstone White.

The white casing handsomely frames everything on the Chromebook, making the black keys really pop. The 1366 x 768, 11.6-inch touch screen also looks really nice next to the bright white finish of the new Chromebook, and will happily keep our favorite aspect of the C720P: the $299 price point. Hardware remains mostly unchanged, but we do get one neat little upgrade.

Like the original, the Moonstruck White C720P will bring us 2GB DDR3 RAM, and “an Intel Celeron 2955U processor based on the Intel Haswell micro-architecture”. For this one, we’ll also get 32GB SSD Memory standard, a bump from the 16GB option of the original. Acer is also noting the device can stay active for 7.5 hours, so a full day of use is highly possible here. Also, going from zero to working in seven seconds is always nice.

If you’re wondering when you can get your hands on one, Acer notes they’ll be available next week. The device will be at CES, and so will we, so be sure to check back often. For $299, you simply can’t beat the  Chromebooks from Acer. Sleek, powerful, and often upgradable (unlike some other Chromebooks), the offerings from Acer have always raised eyebrows, and the addition of touchscreen only highlights their commitment to Chrome. The new white only makes us want it even more.
