Acer is busy this week showing off new products left and right. The company started by introducing the new Chromebook 11 and Chromebase 24. The Taiwanese company released a number of new Chromebooks last year but the most memorable was the Chromebook 15–the biggest Chromebook to date yet. No follow up to that one but the Chromebook 11 (CB3-131) is expected to be another impressive machine for those looking for value for their money.

The Acer Chromebook 1 (model no. CB3-131) boasts of a new a nano-imprinted pattern cover and a long-lasting battery that can last up to 9 hours on a single full charge. Making this Chrome OS-powered different from the other Acer Chromebooks is the idea that it can handle heavy loads. We’re not talking about the personal computing part but the fact that it can handle up to 60kg of downward force. If you happen to sit on it accidentally or place something heavy on the laptop for some reason, the Chromebook won’t break easily because it is that tough. Dropping it from about 60cm height won’t damage the laptop either because it’s designed to sustain rough usage.

The new Acer Chromebook 11 features an 11.6-inch display screen, Acer ComfyView technology, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, 2GB/4GB RAM, and 16GB or 32GB on-board storage. It weighs 2.42 pounds and is only 0.73-inch thin. The Chromebook will be available for only $179 starting February in North America.

Acer Chromebase 24

There’s also the Chromebase 24 which you guessed it right, has a 24-inch display. Actually, screen is a 23.8-inch Full HD panel–making it the biggest Chrome OS-powered unit yet. Acer only launched its first ever all-in-one Chromebase computer last year and it seems the company received a lot of good feedbacks that’s why there’s a new model.

The Acer Chromebase 24 comes equipped with Intel Core processors, an adjustable HD webcam, four digital microphones, and an adjustable chassis that makes it ideal for video conferencing. This is Acer’s first all-in-one that runs Intel chips so we’re interested to know if performance is better. Still no word on availability and pricing yet but Acer is showcasing the Chromebase 24 and the new Chromebook 11 at the CES floor in Last Vegas.
