Aside from the two previously-announced new Acer Liquid smartphones (the Z220 and the Z520), the Taiwanese OEM has also announced another device that has more premium features but they promise to not kill your wallet when it comes to the price. The Liquid Jade Z has high-end specifications, the ability to take better pictures even in low-light conditions, has Hi-res audio and comes in an ultra-thin package but will cost lesser than others of its ilk that are currently in the market.

The 5″ HD IPS display with Zero Air Gap technology is enclosed in a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel that will give it a tougher exterior, even if the device is ultra-thin and lightweight, coming in at just 110 grams. It will run on a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek processor and is also LTE-ready. If you read ebooks or long articles on your smartphone, this new Acer phone will appeal to you as it has a Read Mode that will protect your eyesight because it will remove the sometimes harmful blue-light emissions from your image processing engine. This means you can read longer without bringing tears to your eyes (unless you’re reading a tear-jerker).

In terms of taking pictures and selfies, the Liquid Jade Z has a lot to offer for the mobile photography enthusiast. The main camera has a 13MP camera with F1.8 aperture and the front-facing camera is at a relatively impressive 5MP and F2.2. Plus it is voice-activated and has a one-finger exposure control so you can properly adjust the focus and exposure before you take the shot. The Acer Bright Magic feature gives you better lighting when you’re in low-light conditions so you can still take better pictures.

The Liquid Jade Z also has the AcerEXTEND capability that allows you to connect your smartphone to your Windows PC through cable or wirelessly and you can drag and drop files and photos with ease. There are no pricing details yet, but you can expect it to be around a little more than $200.
