Acer has put its Iconia B1 tablet through a number of iterations already and looks like it isn’t done yet. A recent leak reveals that the next version of the tablet will sport some familiar specs as well as new ones, like a better processor and, as the name implies, an HD display.

The very first Acer Iconia B1 was officially unveiled early 2013 and sported some rather mid-tier specs, even for devices of that period. Time again, Acer has tried to bring in something new to the brand, with new colors and, early this year, some upgraded specs. Now the company is rumored to be giving the tablet yet another go, improving on some areas but once again leaving others untouched.

Perhaps most notable is that this incarnation of the Iconia B1 finally moves into the HD age, with a 7-inch display capable of supporting a resolution of 1280×800. The processor has also seen a substantial change, moving from a 1.3 dual-core processor, which we presumed was a MediaTek, to a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560. In all other aspects, the tablet is pretty much the same, including the 1 GB of RAM, 8 or 16 GB of internal storage, and the microSD card slot for more space.

The body of the Iconia B1-730 HD does seem to have changed slightly, particularly the rear cover. Although the previous Iconia B1 also had a textured surface, this new one seems to have gone with a particular design that’s reminiscent of NVIDIA’s tablet designs. The Acer Iconia B1-730 HD still has no definite availability details, but if previous models are any indication, this tablet will similarly be sold at a price that will not make your wallet weep.
