Verizon Wireless begins pushing latest Samsung Stratosphere update

Verizon Wireless has detailed and begun pushing the latest software update for the Samsung Stratosphere. Those with a Stratosphere can expect an update that brings a handful of what Verizon describes as "device enhancements." This is one that will have Stratosphere users sticking with their current version of Android, but hopefully with a few less issues than before.

After launching the Galaxy Stratosphere II quietly back in November, today Samsung and Verizon have issued the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the phone.

Samsung SCH-I425 ‘Godiva’ FCC filing discovered

While we have yet to see anything official come from Verizon Wireless or Samsung, it looks like the Stratosphere III has recently made an appearance with the FCC. Of course, we should point out that calling it the Stratosphere III is a bit of speculation. What we do know is that this handset is sporting a model number of SCH-I425 and a codename of Godiva. The FCC filing suggests an announcement is coming soon.

We saw a bit of detail on a yet-to-be announced Samsung smartphone yesterday. The handset is the SCH-I425 "Godiva" and the leak included just a few of the basics in terms of specs. The handset had been believed to be heading towards Verizon Wireless as the Stratosphere III. And well, it looks like some images have since surfaced.

While there are more than a few details that are still missing, it looks like the GLBenchmark database has offered up some details for a yet to be announced Samsung smartphone. The device is the Samsung SCH-I425 and it is expected to be heading towards Verizon Wireless. And as the I425 name would imply, this looks like it could be another Stratosphere.

After hearing plenty of rumors about it, the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II has finally been confirmed for a Verizon launch. Verizon announced the phone today in a News Center post, revealing that it will be available "in the coming weeks." Unfortunately, Verizon didn't get anymore specific than that, so we don't have an exact launch date for the Stratosphere II just yet.

It's been a little while since we've heard from the Samsung Stratosphere II, but a leaked image of the rumored device has surfaced once again today. The fine folks at @evleaks have posted a new image of the Stratosphere II, showing it off in all of its slider glory. Sadly, @evleaks didn't post any new details about the phone along with the image, but the picture does clearly show Verizon and 4G LTE branding.

Samsung QWERTY Slider spotted in the wild – headed to T-Mobile

It looks like the QWERTY slide-out keyboard hasn't completely died away yet, just like flip phones sadly haven't either. Today we are seeing another QWERTY slider headed to the market soon, apparently for those folks on T-Mobile. This new slider comes from Samsung and appears the be rather mid-range at best.
