DROID3 and Motorola XOOM LTE Announced in Verizon MAP, Close to Launch!

It appears that our friends at DroidLife have just been handed another piece to the ongoing puzzle we've got going here with two devices of some note: the DROID3 (aka DROID 3 with a space as this release would have us believe,) and the Motorola XOOM LTE. The latter device is the subject of an extended accessories post we just added this morning to the Android Community feed, thought the name is certainly worth some discussion. There are two versions of the Motorola XOOM currently available for sale, that being the Verizon connected version which is, as they say, upgradable to 4G LTE, and the Wi-Fi only version which you can get at Target. Now they're speaking of an LTE version of the tablet, which should be all means be confusing to those already owning a XOOM from Verizon as they've been promised an upgrade to LTE in the near future.

Motorola DROID3 benchmarks tip qHD plus dual-core TI CPU

Benchmarks for the yet-to-be-announced Motorola DROID3 have emerged, giving us hints as to the specifications of the upcoming Android smartphone. According to the stats at Nenamark, the DROID3 uses a PowerVR SGX 540 GPU powering a qHD resolution, 960 x 540 display. The phone is also running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, or at least was at time of testing. The PowerVR GPU closes off suggestions that Motorola would use the Tegra 2 chipset for the DROID3, instead indicating that it's Texas Instrument's dual-core 1GHz OMAP4430. Meanwhile we already known that the qHD display measures in at 4-inches, and that the DROID3 has a front-facing camera. No word on launch date, but if Motorola is benchmarking the phone then that might suggest it's imminent. [via Droidlife]

OmniROM looking to put out Android 5.0-friendly version soon

We’ve talked about OmniROM a number of times already here at Android Community. This was a project started a few years back in the wake of the CyanogenMod ROM project going commercial, and the response to the project has been very warm, with a number of famous developers getting on with the program. There were questions on how fast they were going to be able to put out a Lollipop-flavored ROM, and seeing as they were able to boot a device recently under Android 5.0, it shouldn’t take long.

Remember The Milk app update brings Android tablet support

While there are plenty of options for task management apps when it comes to Android, it is hard to argue that Remember The Milk is a name known by many. And now, thanks to a recently updated app, those using RTM will be able to do so on an Android tablet. This newfound tablet support arrives as part of the v3.0 app update which also includes what is being described as a "new and intuitive" user interface.

Apparently the developer hashcode was able to get CM7 booting on the DROID3 and the same little trick is working just great for the new DROID Bionic, check out the video below.

Motorola DROID 4 codenamed “Maserati” and will have 4G LTE [Rumor]

I must admit the codename "Maserati" gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, although I'm not too big on slide out QWERTY keyboard smartphones. What we have here is a rumor so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. According to a few members of HowardForums the next device in the DROID slider evolution will be the DROID4 and is codenamed "Maserati".
