ASUS has been leveraging on its partnership with chipmaker Intel for making its ZenFone line perform way better than any phone at that price point should. Last year ASUS surprised everybody with the ZenFone 5, competing against Motorola’s Moto G for affordability, but showing some definite class with a better camera and performance. Now we have the ASUS ZenFone 2, one of the first consumer smartphones to offer 4GB of RAM, being tested for what should be a smooth multitasking performance.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML is the top-of-the-line variant in this model, boasting of Intel’s quad-core 2.3GHz Atom Z3580 processor, a PowerVR G6430 graphics chip, and backstopped as we said by 4GB of RAM. At first glance, we would be slightly concerned if a quad-core processor would be able to handle graphics-intensive processes and games. But you be the judge, see the video below.

As you’ve seen, the user was jumping from one graphics-heavy game to another, with nary a lag or a stutter in the ZenFone 2’s performance. For any other midrange to upper midrange phone, running FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, NOVA, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Real Racing 3 altogether would be quite a feat. You can see that the 4GB of RAM does its job pretty well, supporting the Intel Atom processor.

Ladies and gents, that’s what 4GB of RAM can do to your phone. You can run pretty much anything, multitask to the depth of your multitasking heart’s delight, and the ZenFone 2 will not show even a hiccup in performance. Good job on this one, ASUS.

  1. Impressive. This wasn’t even in my radar. If it has better camera than s6 or g4, I’m sold. Need more details. Pocketing this article
