HTC has made a pretty big push for the high-end market with the DROID DNA, but if new rumors are to be believed, the company isn’t stopping there. Apparently HTC is planning to launch another high-end device called the HTC M7, which comes equipped with a 5-inch screen. That’s the same screen size as the one on the DROID DNA, so it seems that five is the magic number for HTC.

This rumor comes from HTC Source, which pieced together information from a number of different sources. Apparently, the M7 will not only feature a 5-inch screen, but also a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064. Couple that with a uni-body aluminum shell and a 13-megapixel camera, and you’ve got a high-end handset on your hands, ladies and gentlemen.

Other than that, details on the hardware are pretty slim, but one thing we’re hearing is that HTC will launch the device in Q1 2013. HTC supposedly wants to target Samsung with this latest release, getting the M7 out the door early so it can beat the highly-anticipated Galaxy S IV to the punch. We know that the Galaxy S IV is going to be one of the biggest phones of 2013, so if HTC can put out a high-end handset of its own before Samsung’s new flagship hits the shelves, HTC may be able to net some market share for itself.

This is a pretty interesting rumor, and if it’s true, then it’s shows just how much HTC is pumping into the high-end market. If it can deliver more phones like the DROID DNA, the company may be able to pull itself out of this rut once and for all (of course, that’s provided these high-end handsets sell well). We’ll have to wait and see what unfolds, but if HTC is actually targeting a Q1 2013 release for the M7, then it shouldn’t be much longer before we officially find out about it. Stay tuned.
