Dell’s second-generation Streak is on track for release in March 2011, according to details purportedly leaked from an internal presentation, and is currently being developed under the codename Opus One. According to StreakSmart‘s anonymous source, the Dell Opus One will keep the 5-inch screen size of the original Streak, but use a higher-resolution panel running at around 1280 x 800.

It’s also tipped to have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, perhaps from Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon range. Strangely, “Opus One” was the internal codename Motorola gave the Android smartphone that eventually became the Motorola i1.

  1. Some Sources say May. Some say March. Neither is verified as definate. Best Buy doesn’t know when, or how many they will have. Same with AT&T. Why all the BIG Secret about products? By the time you find out about a cool gadget, it’s already been on the market 6 months, and is already considered “The Older, Less Efficient Model”. Not everyone has lots of disposable income to keep buying the current, short-lived gadget. Get some accurate info out there ahead of time, so we can save up to get this stuff.

  2. Aw man, I hope they upgrade the Megapix and brighter leds! The camera SUCKS when it comes to night pics! Also I hope it supports Skype! Data managment control too! At&t drained my account after one months use outside the US! Its a good phone if you only use it in the states and during the day! Nite life.. eat your heart out! International… Forget about it!

  4. This is welcome news. The recently retired dell streak 5 or dell workstation as I fondly call it was a winner for me personally, way way better than the over hyped apple products. I eagerly await the dell opus or dell work station’s release. The competition will be interesting with the samsung note about to be released. Let the games begin.
