HTC prepping new 5-inch phone to replace the Butterfly and DNA

Back in October of last year HTC announced the impressive J Butterfly as the world's first 5-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD smartphone, and so far it has been quite popular. Later launching in the US as the DROID DNA, the 5-inch size has been successful enough that HTC is already prepping their next generation and it should be "coming soon" according to reports.

Humble Mobile Bundle brings six Android games

It looks like we have another Humble Bundle that has come available. Well, more specifically, it looks like there are two. There is the Humble Weekly Sale and also the Humble Mobile Bundle. This marks the first of the mobile bundle packs and we have some good news for those reading here -- this one is all for Android users. The Humble Mobile Bundle has six games including Plants vs Zombies.

Google starts sending Glass Explorer Edition challenge invites out

Today the folks from Google have confirmed that their Project Glass #ifihadglass challenge that has been going on has finally come to a close. After starting up a challenge a few weeks ago asking individuals and developers to share what they'd do if they had glass, they received tons of amazing ideas. The winners will be joining the Explorer Edition crowd and getting their own pair of Glass.

LG patent filing details a three display smartphone

Patent filings are an interesting topic. There are plenty of patent filings that we hope to see come to life, and then there are those that are probably better left alone. That said, the latter is the case with this recently discovered filing from LG. This particular filing dates back to August of 2010, however it has recently come back in the form of an issued patent.

HP Slate 7 FCC filing discovered ahead of April release

HP announced the Slate 7 tablet back in February. They were pretty forthcoming in terms of details at the time and offered everything from specs to pricing and even a rough idea of when the tablet will begin shipping. For those who may have missed that earlier news, the HP Slate 7 is expected in April and will arrive priced at $169. The good news today, it looks like that April release is now one step closer to becoming a reality.

During T-Mobile's big event today where they announced their new plan moving forward, no contracts, 4G LTE, and the T-Mobile iPhone we also heard they'd be releasing some pretty aggressive marketing ads. HTC One pre-orders reach “several hundred thousand” in the US

In case you guys didn't know, the HTC One is a pretty impressive device. The companies new flagship smartphone is drawing a lot of demand and interest from consumers around the globe, and apparently in the US buyers are pretty excited too. According to HTC, the initial interest for the One is the highest of any device they've ever released. Which has HTC pretty excited.

GALAXY S 4 system dump offers S Voice APK, ringtones and HD wallpapers

Part of the T-Mobile news this morning dealt with the upcoming availability of the Samsung GALAXY S 4. But more to the point for the day, it looks like a GALAXY S 4 system dump has surfaced online. Basically, this means that we are being given the opportunity to see and even play with some of the goodies that will come with the handset. Up today we are seeing the updated version of S Voice as well as the GALAXY S 4 ringtones and wallpapers.

IDC: Tablet shipments on the rise and will overtake PC shipments by 2014

The latest IDC report has been posted and it touches on the topic of the worldwide smart connected device market. IDC notes that this market had crossed 1 billion shipments in 2012 and it shows Apple as pulling in close to Samsung for the fourth quarter of the year. Perhaps more interesting for some, it is looking like a post-PC era is getting closer reality.
