DROID 4 shows up in Best Buy ad, nowhere else
Man, it's starting to turn into a seriously frustrating wait for those who want a Motorola DROID 4. Since a large number of original DROID owners are past their two-year contract term with Verizon, there's a decent amount of pent-up demand for a current generation QWERTY successor. Verizon apparently had a handful of dates ready before postponing the phone, possibly as late as February 2nd. At least one of them is probably the reason that you can spot a DROID 4 onĀ Best Buy's Rewards Zone site right now.

Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S II possibly headed to US Cellular
While almost every carrier available has some sort of Galaxy S II variant US Cellular doesn't have that amazingly sleek and sexy phone in their lineup just yet. According to some leaked screenshots it appears that their inventory system is showing both the Galaxy S II and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 -- leading many to believe they will get those devices soon.

Roll your own CyanogenMod with CMC Compiler
Custom ROMs are part of what makes Android awesome, and there's a sufficient variety to satiate everyone. Well... almost everyone. Have you ever wanted to remove certain features from a ROM before even installing it, making for a lean, mean software machine? If you're a user of the popular CyanogenMod family of custom ROMs, now you can, with a new compiler tool from XDA member "lithid-cm". The Cyanogenmod Compiler ("CMC") allows almost anyone to pick and chose from a variety of CyanogenMod features and compile their own ROM on your computer - no supermodder skills required.

Intel Medfield Developer Android Tablet spotted in the wild
We have been hearing a little bit of chatter and news regarding Intel's upcoming Medfield mobile processor and SoC over the past few days, including some leaked benchmark results and specifications (linked to below). Today we have a little treat for our readers. While the tablet has already been seen before at the Intel Developer Forum conference, we have the tablet out and in the wild -- probably in the wrong hands but we'll take it.

Verizon experiencing another network outage — can you hear me now? [Update]
This is starting to get a little bit ridiculous. Apparently Verizon Wireless is experiencing another network outage and this time around it seems to be pretty widespread. A few days after the Galaxy Nexus launched they had a similar outage that lasted for more than a few hours to say the least -- and this could be the same case.

Samsung Galaxy S III may be rocking 3D — lets watch Avatar again
It should come as no surprise that Samsung is hard at work creating their next flagship device. With big hits like the Galaxy S II we can expect the III to be coming soon. After the beautiful leaked images Friday of the SGSIII we quickly learned they were fake -- but that hasn't stopped the rumor mills for what this next flagship device from Sammy may include. We are now starting to hear talk of 3D, more details below.

Use Android, get cheap pizza: Papa John’s grants 25% off through new app
Pizza isn't a traditional holiday meal, but in this case I may be willing to make an exception. Papa John's just released their very of Android app in the Market, and to celebrate they're giving users a big, juicy discount. Order a pizza through the app and you'll get a generous 25% discount, valid through New Year's Day. (Think of it as getting two slices for free.) Any full-sized pizza qualifies, even "specialty" varieties, but you'll need to sign up for an official Papa John's account first.

HTC adds MyTouch 4G Slide and Evo View 4G to unlock tool
HTC won some major brownie point with the modder community when it released an official bootloader unlock tool this fall, though the selection of phones that could be unlocked was a bit small. Today the available devices expand by two, with the addition of T-Mobile's MyTouch 4G Slide and the Flyer's mobile broadband variant, the Evo View 4G. It's still a pretty small selection against HTC's entire lineup, but the more options, the better.
