HTC Flyer may get two big brothers, delayed til May

There's talk that HTC is so happy with preorders of the HTC Flyer that they may be following Samsung's lead on the Galaxy Tab and adding two more sizes to the Flyer line by this summer. We reported a few weeks back that preorders of the Flyer have gone through the roof with over 1,000,000 already sold ... and it's not even out yet. The two new Flyer tablets will have larger screens, mirroring the Samsung release plan, and will run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). Out other than that, there's little information.

If you are like us and saw the unveiling and showcase of the amazing looking HTC EVO 3D this week you are probably as excited as us about this device. A beast by any measure coming to Sprint soon. The link above mentions all the specs so I'll spare all of that other than mentioning that it will probably sell as many or more than it's younger brother. Atrix 4G first update falls short, no voice quality improvement

Motorola is poised to offer it's first OTA update to the Motorola Atrix. Unfortunately, it won't address the main gripes Atrix users are grumbling about ... namely voice quality and the lack of HSUPA support. Motorola says they're still working on this fixes for a future OTA update, and that omitting them in this OTA was a "tough decision." There's no real word on what will be in the change log just yet, but it's release, in beta form, will come Friday at 12pm EST, and users can sign up to test it here.

According to TmoNews the newly announced G2x by LG will have both T-Mobile 3G/4G as well as also having AT&T 3G/4G. A quad-band 4G, future proof for the T-Mobile merger maybe?

LG Optimus 2x (aka T-Mo G2x) gets clockwork recovery already

Well well, it looks like the amazing Paul O'Brien from ModaCo has been busy with the new dual core device from LG. He has already done plenty on this phone but recently he has announced and shown pictures for a few exciting things. One being that Paul himself said the phone is a developer dream device. It is not locked down, and messed up like phones have been lately from both Motorola, and HTC. It is open, and free just like it should be and as Android was intended.

AT&T working with Amazon to bring AppStore to handsets

In another sign that AT&T is shifting away from the iPhone and doubling down on the Android platform, Ma Bell is believed to be hard at work to develop support for the Amazon App Store. According to sources, Amazon and AT&T may be working to bring a direct app to future Android handsets which will allow for direct updating and purchases of Android apps through the Amazon App Store. Software upgrades to current handsets could also provide a purchase path on additional Android phones as well. Until that path is complete, AT&T has launched a site called AppStoreAccess.com, where users can select their phone and type in their email address to be notified when the link to the Amazon AppStore for Android is complete.
