Samsung Fascinate for Verizon Shown Off in Standard Samsung Promo Video

First, there was the promotional video for the Samsung Galaxy S -- the device that started it all, basically. It showcased all of the great features of the device, like its four-inch Super AMOLED display, and how easy it is to use the Swype keyboard. It did a good job of making people want the phone. HTC Manufactured Device Looks Like an EVO, Heading to Verizon

Ready to look at a nicely framed device that doesn't quite yet have a name or release date? Good, because here it is. As you can probably already tell, it looks strikingly familiar. It definitely has the same lines as the EVO, the first 4G-capable device launched on Sprint a couple of months ago. But, it has that same brushed aluminum attractiveness that the Nexus One features, which makes it easily one of the most attractive devices not available right now.

Orange HTC Desire Android 2.2 update delayed to mid-September

Bad news for Orange UK customers waiting for Android 2.2 Froyo on their HTC Desire.  On the same day that Verizon began pushing out Froyo for the Droid Incredible, the UK carrier has announced a delay in getting the update ROM from HTC.  As such, the Android 2.2 update for the Orange HTC Desire now isn't expected to be released until mid-September 2010. Orange hasn't given any specific reasons for the delay, but does insist that it's nothing to do with the carrier's own services on the handset.

Verizon OTA Android 2.2 Froyo update for Droid Incredible is out now

Verizon has confirmed to us that the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the HTC Droid Incredible has begun going out today as an OTA update.  The updated ROM will not only upgrade the Droid Incredible's core OS but add in the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 together with 3G mobile hotspot functionality and add 720p HD video recording to the smartphone's camera. The update is going out OTA rather than as a download, so you may have to wait a while before you get the on-device alert to say it's ready for installation.  We'd recommend using a WiFi connection to download it, too, rather than cellular data.  Unfortunately there's no way to artificially prompt the update, Verizon tells us; patience is a virtue, we guess.  There's more information on the update here.
